Here are some examples of how a Dr. Putnam might approach dietary changes:

  • Elimination diets: Eliminating certain foods or food groups from the diet to identify potential food sensitivities or allergies. Commonly eliminated foods may include gluten, dairy, soy, or eggs.

  • Anti-inflammatory diet: Inflammation is thought to play a role in many chronic health conditions, including autoimmune disorders, heart disease, and cancer. An anti-inflammatory diet that is rich in whole, nutrient-dense foods, and low in processed foods, sugar, and saturated fat may hep you feel better.

  • Blood sugar balancing diet: Dietary changes to help balance blood sugar levels, can be helpful for managing conditions like diabetes or metabolic syndrome. This may involve reducing the intake of simple carbohydrates and increasing the intake of fiber-rich foods, healthy fats, and protein.

  • Gut healing diet: The health of the gut is thought to play a role in many health conditions, including autoimmune disorders, mood disorders, and skin conditions.  A gut-healing diet that includes foods rich in prebiotics, probiotics, and other nutrients that support gut health may be a good fit.

  • Personalized diet plan: Dr. Putnam understands that each person's health needs and dietary preferences are unique. She will work with patients to develop a personalized diet plan that takes into account their individual health history, symptoms, and lifestyle factors.
